About

My journey in science has been driven by an insatiable curiosity and a passion for learning. From excelling in secondary school to pursuing continuous professional development, I've always been committed to pushing the boundaries of my knowledge and skills.

My scientific career began with an apprenticeship at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust, working as a medical laboratory assistant in one of England's 13 Newborn and Maternal Screening laboratories. What started as a Level 2 Healthcare Sciences qualification quickly evolved into a transformative professional path. Balancing work and education, I completed an Access to Higher Education course in Health Sciences, demonstrating my dedication to personal and professional growth.

In 2020, I began my distance learning Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science with Ulster University, simultaneously earning a promotion to associate practitioner at the hospital. During this journey, I gained extensive experience across biochemistry, working in rotation through automated systems, manual techniques, immunology, and newborn screening. In 2024, I graduated with a first-class honours degree, earning a place on the Dean's List for academic excellence. My dissertation focused on a critical examination of biochemical analytes across different analytical platforms, showcasing my analytical approach and research capabilities.

Never one to stop learning, I've continued to expand my skill set. I have recently completed a Level 4 Data Analytics bootcamp to enhance my research and statistical skills, and a Level 3 qualification in Training and Education, reflecting my belief in the importance of knowledge sharing.

My professional journey has led me to medical writing – a field that perfectly combines my scientific background, research skills, and passion for communication. I'm excited to translate complex scientific information into compelling narratives that can inform, educate, and inspire.

Learning is not just a profession for me – it's a way of life.
